Guardians Of Time was formed in 1997 by a handful of musicians drinking beer and fighting each other at the local metal joint. After the brawl settled and the missing teeth were counted they came up with the brilliant idea to form a band.
Their first demo landed them a record deal, and the debut album ”Edge of Tomorrow” was released in 2001. The album received great reviews and the band did shows all over Norway and played almost every metal festival in the country.
The second album ”Machines of Mental Design” was released in 2004 by Massacre Records. Once again receiving great reviews from all over the world. The album was often compared to the epic masterpiece ”Operation Mindcrime” for its well thought composition and lyrics. Guardians of Time joined the 2004 ”Scream Magazine Tour”, playing all over Norway, culminating in an amazing show at Norway’s biggest festival at the time, the ”Quart Festival” where they supported Slipknot. By now, the Guardians Of Time had indeed become a great live act.
And what do you know, when the band was moving forward, the focus of certain members changed from having fun in a band to making problems in a band. The band fell apart. After a few years, Bernt and Paul just couldn’t sit still any longer and revived the band with a new line-up. In 2011 the album ”A Beautiful Atrocity” was released to amazing critics and ecstatic fans. Prestigious live jobs at ”Norway Rock Festival” and ”Prog Power Russia” followed, once again proving Guardians Of Time as one of the most interesting power metal bands in Norway.
After extensive touring in 2013, the band began working on a new album. The album was mixed and mastered in Studio Fredman by the legendary Fredrik Nordström. In 2015 the bands fastest and most intense album so far, entitled ”Rage and Fire”, was released to overwhelming critics! Their fifth album “Tearing up the World” is now done, mixed and mastered. Also this time in cooperation with Studio Fredman and Carlos Cabrera. The album also features guest performances of Abbath and Tim ”Ripper” Owens.
